Our Work
The Energy Navigator Project
Our latest venture: helping Addison County renters and homeowners find ways to reduce their home’s carbon footprint.
Advice, for free.
In 2017 and 2020, we compiled and calculated a greenhouse gas inventory for Addison County. We’ve found that the major emissions sources in Addison County are agriculture, building heat, and transportation.
In 2024, we’re updating the inventory once again.
This data has informed our work on Climate Action Planning and helped to inspire the Navigator Project.

Climate Action Plan
In June 2022, we released a Climate Action Plan (CAP) for Addison County.
The plan, built over the course of 18 months with extensive input and feedback from the community. It provides a roadmap for our community to address climate change at the local level.
“CEAC is taking the most global of all problems and bringing it down to the level where we can take serious action to both lessen our impact and improve our local communities. It’s going to take all of us, and that’s why this effort is so crucial.”
— Bill McKibben, author and environmental activist
Together, we will build more local initiatives that make a significant difference here in Addison County.
